Waseem become champion of Combat Games boxing

Karachi: Pakistan’s young and promising boxer Muhammad Waseem showed his talented and prowess to out punch his Dominico Republican opponent Dagoverto Agoero in the final bout and he become first ever Pakistani boxer who get Gold medal in Sports Accord Combat Games in Beijing, China on Thursday.

Pakistani boxing team will arrive from china on Friday night 12:00AM on Jinnah Int’l Airport Karachi.

Muhammad Waseem wins final bout by the score of 11-5 against Dagoverto agoero from Dominica republic in third and final round in concluding bout of 52kg weight category.

Gold medalist boxer Muhammad Waseem express his success named to his flood affected nation, I also pay thanks to Pakistani nation who prays for my success and Pakistan becomes the gold medalist country in Combat Games boxing event.

Pakistan boxing team manager also support victorious boxer, Iqbal Hussain express in front of Int’l Media in Beijing.

“Our gold medal goes to Pakistani Nation who suffering from flood disaster we want gave some happiness to our countrymen on this occasion” Manager Iqbal Hussain express on front of Int’l Media in Beijing during Games concluding ceremony.

President of Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) Doda Khan Bhutto announce one lac Rupees Cash reward for gold medalist boxer Muhammad Waseem.

“Waseem is a good boxer and his performance can help us for up lifting boxing games in Pakistan now we have good hopes from him in commomwelath games and also in Asian Games which will be held this year India and China” Doda Khan Bhutto express in a statement.

Five Pakistani boxers were took part in Sports accord Combat Games four boxers Mohib Ullah, Amir Khan, Tariq Zia and Nisar Khan have lost in quarter finals only Waseem reached in semi final and now he will fight for Gold Medal in event.

PSB approved seven nations joint boxing training camp

Karachi: Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has allowed to Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) hosting seven international boxing teams for commonwealth games joint training session.

President of Pakistan Boxing Federation Doda Khan Bhutto, Vice President Iqbal Hussain and General Secretary Muhammad Akram Khan were met on Tuesday with Director General of Pakistan sports Board Syed Amir hamza Gilani at PSB National Coaching Center in Karachi.

“We have get approval from our parent body for joint training session but PSB has cut number of participating teams ten to six now we will invite to six teams for this purpose included we have confirmation from Malaysia, Central Republic of Africa, Ghana, Kenya, Sri lanka, Mauritius, Rwanda, Nigeria, Uganda and Cameroon….” Doda Khan Bhutto said in a statement.

Director General PSB Amir Hamza Gilani appreciated PBF hard efforts for uplifting boxing game in country he also expressed we don’t host such type big event that time because our many team preparations ongoing in Islamabad so we have face residential problems and also we have face financial issues, but we see PBF interest and we are on back of PBF and PSB will continue it’s all support.

Pakistan Boxing officials grateful to PSB, Federal Sports Ministry and other Government officials for its good support, they says we all working together for country soft image and bring back international sports in Pakistan.

Joint Training Camp could be start in Islamabad from 25th August till 28th September 2010.
